Hello everyone,
Mine is a long story:
I am adopted and found my beloved father who was Irish/Lebanese. His Mother was called Alexander Wakim and her mother's name was Miriam Khayat. Can anyone tell me more about the origins of the name Khayat? I am very proud of my Lebanese blood and people say I look so much like my father.

Marianna Kayat Araktingi's father Assaad Yaccob Kayat was British Consul Jaffa about 1856. The spelling of the last name is Kayat, Khayat,etc. Asaad Kayat also wrote a book, "A Voice From Lebanon". I am trying to find more about Assaad Kayat family & his children. paraktingi@centurytel.net.

Hello from Canada. My Maiden name was Shebib and my grandfather was Faragella. He immigrated to Canada approx 1903 and his Father's name was Elias born approx 1850. Elias wife 's name was Miriam Khayat born approx 1860. I am tracing the family in Lebanon. My name is Fuat E. Christopher Hayat, I'm from Istanbul in Turkey and now I'm studing in Paris
My last name has been changed from Khayat to Hayat from the Turkish gouvernement in the early 1900's
I know that my granfather's father came from Beijrout to Konya in Turkey and after to Istanbul
